'A Night at the Opera' featured favourite operatic arias and choruses performed by Nick Allen, who has been wowing audiences with his effortlessly stunning tenor voice since his schooldays in Lowestoft, the exciting young soprano Jo Westaway, and Pakefield Singers. The programme included well-loved and exhilarating arias and choruses, including Puccini's O MioBabbino Caro and the Serenade from the Student Prince, as well as Verdi's Anvil Chorus and Chorus of Hebrew Slaves. Everyone had fun singing 'Insalata Italiano' a send up of a finale to an early 19century Italian opera, in which choir member, Chris Upton 'hammed up' the solo lead to perfection.

Local Lowestoft lad "made good", Nick Allen, has been wowing audiences with his effortlessly appealing tenor voice since his schooldays. He returns on Saturday November 19th to perform with his first singing teacher, Vetta Wise, and his old friends, Pakefield Singers, in St Edmund's Church, Southwold. Since winning a scholarship to the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama and subsequently graduating in 2011, Nick has established a diverse career in London and abroad as a soloist in opera and oratorio. In addition Nick's exceptional voice and lively personality has now marked him out as a highly successful cabaret artist.

The concert will be conducted by Vetta Wise, who will bring to the varied and exciting programme her own experience as an opera singer and award-winning chorus master and choral conductor both in the UK and abroad.
